It’s based on the Ubuntu Minimal Archive Filesystem, with Lubuntu being used for the ISO in order to power up the OS in the first place through the ISO file. Once it’s installed, there’s nothing about it that’s based on Lubuntu.

As for the desktop: Feren OS Next uses Plasma, unlike ‘Feren OS’ which uses Cinnamon.
